Welcome to the Endocrinology Department at Lakes Region General Hospital. We are here to point the way to wellness with Diabetes or any other Endocrine disorder.
Our office is located at the HealthLink Building at 557 Main Street in Laconia and the office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Our highly skilled and trained staff includes certified diabetes educators who are nurses and dieticians with advanced training in diabetes and a Board Certified Endocrinologist.
To stay healthy with diabetes, it is important to know how to take care of yourself. You and your health care provider can choose from our list of services.
We offer an educational program which consists of four sessions, providing you the basic information you need to manage your diabetes well. Topics include: "What Is Diabetes?", "Glucose Monitoring," "You and Your Diet." "Diabetes Medications," "Sick Day Rules," "Foot Care Dos" and many others.
We also offer individualized medical nutrition therapy to help you learn how to balance food and meal selections for the best blood sugar control.
Are you new to insulin? We can show you the latest methods for delivering insulin, such as insulin pens and insulin pumps, and help you to select the method that is best suited to your needs.
If you develop diabetes while you are pregnant, we will teach you how to test your blood sugar and eat a healthy diet. We will follow your blood sugars throughout your pregnancy to make sure your blood sugar level remains within the optimal range.
