Community Benefit Report
From our people to our programs, LRGHealthcare is committed to making a difference in the communities we serve and like many healthcare organizations across the country, we face many economic challenges.
We provide healthcare and emergency response services 24/7; keeping patient care, quality and safety our number one priority, all while contending with dwindling reimbursement, government mandates and complex payment reform in a region with a higher percentage of low income individuals than many other NH areas as well as an aging population. The opioid misuse epidemic has greatly impacted our communities as well especially in Laconia and Franklin, homes to our two hospital campuses. Our challenges are many, but our commitment remains strong.
Improving the health and well-being of individuals is at the heart of everything we do, and our commitment extends to our communities, which we engage to assess and respond to healthcare needs. In addition, we collaborate with community partners to support their work; understanding a coordination of efforts is required to make an impact on the complex social issues we face.
Complexities of healthcare and the socio-economic challenges within our region result in financial loss surrounding community benefit allocation—the Community Benefit Report allows LRGHealthcare the opportunity to share information regarding the healthcare services we provide to meet the essential needs of our community. In fiscal year 2016, LRGHealthcare invested $33,169,365 of community benefit back into the Lakes and Three Rivers Regions.
