LACONIA – Genesis Behavioral Health recently closed a deal with LRGHealthcare to purchase the HealthLink building located at 575 Main Street in Laconia. With the purchase of the property, the new building will allow Genesis Behavioral Health to combine four of their Laconia campus sites which include the two clinical offices currently located at 111 Church Street and 771 North Main Street. All LRGHealthcare employees who occupied the HealthLink building have moved to other LRGHealthcare properties.
“We are pleased to be part of Genesis Behavioral Health’s solution to finding a new home in Laconia,” states Kevin W. Donovan, LRGHealthcare President and CEO. “It is nice to know that not only will this historical building be revitalized, but it will continue to house an important community service”.
Genesis Behavioral Health and LRGHealthcare are partners in meeting the specialty care needs of mental health patients in the communities they serve. NH is challenged by limited availability of resources for people with mental illness and this is another example of how Genesis Behavioral Health and LRGHealthcare continue to explore opportunities that improve access to care.
“This building gives us an opportunity to demonstrate to our staff, our patients and the community the significance that mental health treatment has in all our lives,” said Maggie Pritchard, Executive Director of Genesis Behavioral Health. “We have been fortunate to work with LRGHealthcare, Conneston Construction, and Samyn-D’Elia Architects to support us and help us see this dream become a reality.”
Genesis Behavioral Health is working with Samyn-D’Elia Architects, P.A. of Ashland, REI Service Corporation of Manchester and Conneston Construction, Inc. of Laconia. The renovation of the facility will provide for a much more energy-efficient operation with improved access to clinical services. The reconstruction of the building’s interior is scheduled to begin in May, and Genesis hopes to be occupying the building as early as December.
“Patients should feel respected and well cared for with our evidence based services and well trained staff,” said Pritchard. The building will be transformed to reflect those sentiments.”
