LACONIA, NH – The LRGHealthcare Red Dress Gala, held on Friday, February 10 at Church Landing in Meredith, was another great success. Event organizers are thrilled to announce that the gala, which sold out in early December, raised a record-breaking $92,625!
Coinciding with American Heart Month, the Red Dress Gala helps to raise awareness about heart disease and prevention. Over the past thirteen years this signature event has raised more than $710,000 for cardiac services, programs, and technology at LRGHealthcare.
“When a patient is experiencing a cardiac event every minute counts – and immediate access to health information can be critical,” explains LRGHealthcare Chief Nursing Officer Patti Strohla. “Funds from this winter’s gala will be designated for the implementation of an Electrocardiogram (ECG) Management System that is integrated into our new electronic medical record. This embedded ECG system will provide physicians and other members of the patient’s healthcare team access to crucial, relevant and timely data, that is available when and where it is needed and that guide decisions that provide the best potential outcomes for our patients.”
“The support from our sponsors, advertisers, auction and in-kind donors, and the hundreds of guests who attended the Red Dress Gala on Friday night is remarkable,” states LRGHealthcare President & CEO Kevin Donovan. “On behalf of the LRGHealthcare staff and our patients, Thank You
to every business and individual who has supported the gala in any way over the past thirteen years.”
With the theme An Evening in Tuscany
decorative touches reminiscent of a Tuscan villa, winery, and Italian countryside were found throughout Church Landing. The ballroom was embellished with custom linens courtesy of Divine Inspirations, and romantic centerpieces created by long-time gala supporter Susan Brown of Lakes Region Floral Studio adorned each table. Guests dressed to the nines, many in floor-length ball gowns.
The Common Man culinary team presented a delicious Tuscan-inspired meal; Geoff Cunningham performed beautiful music during the cocktail hour; and the Eric Grant Band had the dance floor spilling over well into the night.
Jesse Thompson worked the crowd during the live auction, raising a record $28,000 in a mere twenty-eight minutes. The live auction line-up included items priced from $750-$6,000 in value, donated by: Annie’s Café & Catering; Boston Marriott Long Wharf Hotel; Contigiani’s Catering Service; Independence Financial Advisors; MacDaddy’s Rollin’ Smoke BBQ; FMS Landscape; T-BONES Meats, Sweets & Catering; Rowell’s Services; Comcast Spotlight; Penny Pitou Travel; O Steaks & Seafood; Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion; Friends at Meredith Bay a Southworth Property; and Faro Italian Grille. A Bruce Springsteen guitar signed by The Boss himself was donated by Dr. & Mrs. Paul Racicot. Guests were incredibly generous raising their paddles -- in many cases bidding over the value of the item.
Other gala highlights included a Magic Mirror photo booth with an array of fun props, a delicious candy buffet by Lee’s Candy Kitchen, and a gourmet coffee bar.
