LRGH Nursery Guild Makes Generous Donation to Family Birthplace
LACONIA, NH- The Lakes Region General Hospital Nursery Guild recently made a generous donation of $2,826 to the LRGHealthcare Family Birthplace. Funds were used to purchase six specialty mattress pads for delivery beds, which will greatly improve the comfort level of postpartum moms.
“The Nursery Guild is a fantastic group,” says LRGHealthcare Director of OB Services Ruth O’Hara, RN. “They have done so much for the Family Birthplace over the years and are always responsive to our requests. Because of their hard work, fundraising, and generosity, we are able to continuously improve the experience for new moms and babies.”
The Nursery Guild, which has supported women’s and children’s health initiatives since 1956, raises funds each year from their Child/Baby Boutiques. “Our boutiques raise a lot of money that goes right back into our community” says LRGH Nursery Guild President Tara Shore. “All of our members have had children at the Family Birthplace, and it was a very easy decision to support this initiative to purchase these much-needed mattress pads. We just want to help make new Moms be as comfortable as possible on the happiest day of their lives!”
