Do I have to leave my local community to have my baby? 

Choosing where to have a baby is a very personal decision for every family, but we encourage you to explore the childbirth options available in your local community. Lakes Region General Hospital offers an excellent maternity facility staffed by skilled nurses, and you can choose from a wide range of providers in the Lakes and Three Rivers regions. We offer complete pre-natal and post-partum care in both the Lakes and Three Rivers regions, including midwifery, physician care, breastfeeding support and education programs. You can choose either an obstetrician or midwife for your care, and when it comes time for your delivery, you will have access to a full-range of birthing and comfort options at the Lakes Region General Hospital Family Birthplace.

It is very important that all women receive regular pre-natal care throughout their pregnancy to protect the health of both mother and baby.
