LACONIA, NH - The Lakes Region General Hospital Auxiliary recently presented four scholarships totaling $7,500 to students pursuing careers in the healthcare field. Please join us in congratulating Renee Delaney, Emily Dionne, Jenna Marchione and Kevin Wilcox.
Renee E. Delaney of Laconia is attending Franklin Pierce University in Manchester, NH. She will be attending as a graduate student studying to obtain a Doctorate in physical therapy. She is maintaining a 3.92 GPA. Her educational aspirations are to better understand how the body functions during movement and to treat patients in the most effective way to enable a more beneficial rehabilitation regime. She has worked at LRGH in the Food & Nutrition Services Department since 2009.
Emily A. Dionne of Laconia is attending the University of Rhode Island. She will be a senior in pursuit of a Doctorate in Pharmacy. She is on the Dean’s List with a GPA of 3.61. One of her proudest moments was reciting the Oath of a Pharmacist and receiving her white coat. Emily will again work in the pharmacy at LRGHealthcare for the summer months.
Jenna R. Marchione of Laconia is attending Keene State College in pursuit of a nursing degree. She has a GPA of 3.57. Jenna is a member of the LRGHealthcare family as her mother is an employee. Jenna hopes to eventually become a nurse educator.
Kevin W. Wilcox of Gilmanton is attending the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH in pursuit of an associate degree in nursing. His GPA is 3.47. He has a five-year plan to earn a master’s degree in nursing. He is presently an employee of LRGHealthcare as a safety LNA.
The LRGH Auxiliary has awarded over $204,000 in scholarship aid to healthcare students in our community since 2000. Scholarship funding is the direct result of the proceeds earned in the hospital Gift Shop.
