LACONIA, NH-LRGHealthcare held its Annual Meeting on April 2 at Church Landing in Meredith with 150 people in attendance.
As part of the evening’s program, two recipients were honored with the 2014 Rhoda C. Ladd and Sally Proctor Awards, which are given annually to individuals who give of themselves to improve the community’s healthcare system. On behalf of LRGHealthcare, President & CEO Tom Clairmont presented the Franklin based, Sally Proctor Award to Christine Dzujna and the Laconia based, Rhoda C. Ladd Award to Nancy Paterno.
Upon her move to Franklin, Christine Dzujna quickly took an active role in the community and Franklin Regional Hospital (FRH). Dzujna served as President of the Franklin Auxiliary for five years and her hard work and leadership helped revive the Auxiliary. Now serving as FRH’s Gift Shop Manager, she is known for her positive attitude and strong sense of commitment to serving the community of Franklin and Franklin Regional Hospital.
A long time volunteer at Lakes Region General Hospital (LRGH), Nancy Paterno has served on the Gift Shop Committee and has taken lead roles in other volunteer programs including the Flower Program and the Crisis Closet. Serving as the LRGH Auxiliary President the last 4 years, she’s been a driving force in moving the Auxiliary forward and building upon the strong organization it is today. Those who know Paterno find her upbeat personality and willingness to help contagious, and in all her years as a volunteer, her commitment to LRGH has never wavered.
Known as two of the founders of LRGH and FRH, Rhoda C. Ladd and Sally Proctor each saw the importance of healthcare in our communities and LRGHealthcare pays tribute to them by awarding individuals each year who share their passion. It was clear to many that Dzujna and Paterno each deserved these awards with all the hard work they have put into supporting their community hospitals. LRGHealthcare is very appreciative of all they do and is happy to have volunteers like them who carry on the legacies of Rhoda C. Ladd and Sally Proctor today.
In addition to the awards, presentations were given on several process improvement programs to match this year’s Annual Meeting theme, “Navigating the Future of Healthcare.” The meeting focused on topics related to helping people in the LRGHealthcare communities adapt to the changing environment of healthcare. LRGHealthcare has already implemented several programs that are proving to be beneficial to the care process. Process improvment programs discussed included. BOOST (Better Outcomes for Older Adults Through Safe Transitions), Embedded Care Coordination, Emergency Room Patient Navigation, and Pharmacy Initiatives in Care Coordination. In addition, reports on medical staff and finances were presented; both with positive outlooks.
The meeting was full of celebrations both for the award recipients, and the innovative programs LRGHealthcare has implemented to continue to provide exceptional care to the Lakes Region and Three Rivers communities.
Recognizing two outstanding recipients for the LRGHealthcare Sally Proctor and Rhoda Ladd awards, President & CEO Tom Clairmont congratulates Christine Dzujna (left) and Nancy Paterno (Right).
