Celebrating National Nurses Week! (May 6-12)

5/3/2013

LACONIA, NH -- The American Nurses Association (ANA) and LRGHealthcare support and encourage National Nurses Week recognition programs throughout our community, specialty nursing organizations, educational facilities, and independent health care companies and institutions.

Annually, National Nurses Week begins on May 6, and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event.

Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer of LRGHealthcare, Ellen Wolff states “Our nurses are trusted to provide the highest quality care every day of the year. National Nurse’s Week provides an opportunity to recognize them and express our appreciation for their dedication and service.

Often described as an art and a science, nursing is a profession that embraces dedicated people with varied interests, strengths and passions because of the many opportunities the profession offers. As nurses, they may work in emergency rooms, school based clinics, and homeless shelters, to name a few. Nurses have many roles – from staff nurse to educator to nurse practitioner and nurse researcher – and serve all of them with passion for the profession and with a strong commitment to patient safety.

LRGHealthcare is proud to honor the over 400 nurses on staff and their belief in delivering quality and innovation in patient care to all.

LRGHealthcare is a not-for-profit healthcare charitable trust representing Lakes Region General Hospital, Franklin Regional Hospital, and affiliated medical providers. LRGHealthcare’s mission is to provide quality, compassionate care and to strengthen the well-being of our community.
