|Moments to cherish|
- Play the fame game. Ask each family member to “become” someone famous. Then, one at a time, each person “acts” like the celebrity until one of you guesses who it is.
- Engage in happy talk. To break up boredom, make up story lines that start with the words “happily” and “unhappily.” Example: “Happily, I got new clothes for my birthday” followed by “Unhappily, they were too large,” then “Happily, I exchanged them for … ”
- See all 50 states. On long car rides, “collect” license plates. See how many licenses from other states you see on cars on the highway. Then, once spotted, challenge the family to name the state capital or a famous person, place or thing from that state, or even someone they know who’s been there.
