Not all teens are merely “moody.” Depression is on the rise, with as many as one in five teens suffering from clinical depression, according to Mental Health America. With proper medical help, your child can conquer depression. You can:
- Make sure your child takes his or her prescribed medications.
- Encourage healthy eating and exercise.
- Tell your child you’re always there for him or her.
- Watch for warning signs that he or she may be considering suicide, such as talking about death.
