No taters for tots?

In the drive-through again? Practice saying, “No fries with that”—especially if there’s a toddler in the back seat. When researchers from Brigham and Women’s Hospital looked at data compiled from the Nurses’ Health Study, they found that women who regularly ate French fries when they were preschoolers were 27 percent more likely to develop breast cancer later in life. It’s not the potatoes that increase cancer risk, scientists note, but the fat they’re fried in, which is high in saturated fats and trans-fatty acids.
