Welcome to Franklin Regional Hospital (FRH). Our mission is to provide quality, compassionate care and to strengthen the well-being of our community.

FRH is a 25-bed critical access community hospital, and we offer a wide range of medical, surgical, specialty, diagnostic, and therapeutic services, wellness education, support groups, and other community outreach services.

Our Emergency Services department is staffed with specially trained physicians, nurses and staff, providing the highest quality care, delivered with the care and compassion. 24-hour availability of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, and both ground and air transfer capability to tertiary care facilities.

We proudly serve the Three Rivers Region communities of Franklin, Tilton, Northfield, Sanbornton, Alexandria, Andover, Bristol, Bridgewater, Boscawen, Danbury, Hebron, Hill and Salisbury.

Our History

The Aiken House/Franklin Hospital opened its doors to the public in 1910. Within a few weeks of that opening, every bed in the facility was occupied. In the first year, FRH cared for 122 patients, providing a total of 1,981 days of patient care.

FRH was built more than a century ago because people recognized a need. They needed a hospital, and the people in the Three Rivers community stepped up to make it happen. The dollars needed to open the doors came from donations (most notably, an estate gift by Sally Proctor), and the hard work of the Ladies' Hospital Aid Society. The equipment and supplies needed to care for patients came through the generosity of friends and neighbors.

In 1967, the community recognized the need to grow their community hospital and Franklin Hospital began expanding the facility. In keeping with tradition of involving the community, Franklin Hospital reached out and asked, 'What's in a Name?' Community members were allowed to vote, and the new name became, Franklin Regional Hospital.

On July 1, 2002, Franklin Regional Hospital and Lakes Region General Hospital merged and became LRGHealthcare. Carrying on the tradition of providing top quality care for residents of the Three Rivers Region, the merger strengthened both hospitals, while expanding healthcare options.
